     William Manson married Christan Young on 2 Jun 1798 The Manse, Watten, Par. of Watten, CAI, SCT, Entry (from Pat) reads:William Manson at Watten Manse and Christan Young there was contracted in order to marriage and, after the ordinary proclamations, and no objections offered, their marriage was solemnized on the (left blank.)3,4
     William Manson was estimated to have died bef. 1841 ?Par. of Wick, CAI, SCT, (given as deceased at son Alexander's 2nd mar. in 1856 and not obvious in 1841 Wick or Watten, nor 1851 Watten census.)5,6,7
     Shown receiving assorted payments in the Watten Manse cash book eg "1805 Nov 30th Paid Wm Manson Achoy for whisky & mutton 365 & 393 (unsure what these figures represent, may be a subsequent typo) £1/4/6"

Census/Where lived/Occupations

     William Manson appeared on the census of 1806 Achavrole, Par. of Watten, CAI, SCT, with Christan Young, enumerated as Wm Manson Christian Young, children David Manson, Mgt Manson, Thos Manson.9 William Manson and Christan Young were not found in the census of 1841 CAI, SCT, (Halkirk the only parish not indexed online yet, so assumed to have died prior to 1841.)7
     William Manson was described as a farmer on the mar. cert of son Alexander in Nov 1856.5

All the other info

     Over time, the baptisms of their children show that William and Christina moved from farm to farm around Watten, and thence to Wick Parish: After their marriage they were at Coghill in Watten by the time of the christening of their first child, David. By Feb 1803, and again from 1807 thru 1811, they are shown in Achoy, Watten, but in Achavrole in 1805. By 1813 they were shown as being in Flaxilass, Wick, (?possibly Backlass, but that would be Watten Parish) then in Winless for the baptism of Christian (1815) and Isobel (1817.)10
     William Manson witnessed the christening of John Manson on 28 Jul 1799 Par. of Watten, CAI, SCT.11,12 William Manson witnessed the christening of Jannet Manson on 28 Jul 1799 Watten, Caithness.11,13 William Manson witnessed the baptism of Isobel Manson on 29 May 1803 Watten, Caithness; father James shown as "in Coghill" and witnesses: Alexr Doull, Coghill, William Manson, Achoy (assumed to be brother to James as William certainly lived Achoy around that time) (Wendy has 20 May, I've 29th, need to recheck OPR.)14,15
     William Manson and Donald Manson were possibly related as Donald (of Reiss) witnessed the baptism of one of William's dtrs b. Winless in 1817.16
