All the other info

William Manson is a potential duplicate of William Manson; one born in Watten, the other married in Wick to Janet Fletcher with one Alexander Manson, ropemaker of Pulteneytown as cautioner for him. This would fit William's brother Alexander by occupation and later place of residence. Not that it helps in any way determine William's fate as the latter has apparently proved elusive in research by a descendant3, and seems to have died prior to 1851, when Janet was shown as a widow, living in Aberdeen.4,3

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
