BMDB data

Isabell Fairbairn was born on 9 Jun 1764 Kelso, ROX, SCT, entry reads: Archibald Fairbairn and Mary Dickson his spouse had a daughter named Isabell born on the ninth and baptised on the 17th June 1764 Witnesses James Bruis and John Gladstones.1 She was baptized on 17 Jun 1764 Kelso, ROX, SCT.1
This Isabel is the connection which led me to the Dec 2023 review of the top parts of the John Fairbairn / Bessie Flint tree in Dec 2023.
If she is indeed the one marrying James Oliver in Ford, Northumberland.
Pro: Autosomal DNA matches exist between the Ollver/Fairbairn decsendants and those of the descendants of both Archibald Fairbairn (Alison Crosser), and of his (now) nephews, William (Wanless) and John (Williamson)
Con: age about 3 years out between baptism, 1764, and birth year from age at death 71 in 1839.
But 3 years in minor offending compared to many adjusting their age over the years!
However IF Isabella is the sister of Archibald and of the father of William and John, she cannot also be the daughter of Archibald Fairbairn and Marion Dickson as there's no room to fit additional sibilings of the right age in the family of Archibald and Marion.2

All the other info

Isabell Fairbairn the daughter of Archibald Fairbairn and Marion Dickson was initially considered, and subsequently rejected, as a potential duplicate of Isabel Fairbairn the wife James Oilver described as "of Smailholm" when they married in Ford, Northuberland.
Either Isabel IS the sister of Archibald and William OR the daughter of the separate Archibald married to Marion Dickson. Autosomal DNA matches are indicating the former is looking a likely fit, but could be differently connected somehow.
Her brothers Archibald and William simply wont fit around, within or after the documented children of Archibald and Marion.2

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
