BMDB data

Sarah Bidgood was born cir. 1835 Tavistock, DEV, ENG.3
Sarah Bidgood was born cir. Jan 1835 Newton Mill, DEV, ENG.1,4 She was baptized on 9 Jan 1835 Tavistock, DEV; entry hows Sarah as dtr of Abraham (labourer) & Joan TURNER resid. Newton.4
Sarah Bidgood married Richard Nicholas, son of Gregory Nicholas and Sarah Dawe, on 14 Oct 1861 Par. Ch of St Paul, Tavistock, DEV, ENG, cert. shows Richard as sailor, s/o Gregory NICHOLAS, farmer; Sarah as d/o Abraham BIDGOOD, labourer; Both of full age and resid. Newton Mills; Both signed; Wit: Abraham BIDGOOD (presumed to be father, might be brother) , John BURROWS (who signed next cert too.)5,2
Sarah Bidgood died bet. Mar 1906 - Jun 1906 Brixton?, Dist of Plympton St Mary, DEV, ENG.6,7,8
My speculation that Sarah might be Abraham & Joan's first child appears to be correct.
Sarah's birth date of c. 1835 would fit the marriage date for Joan and Abraham.
Sarah was living with Abraham's mother in 1841 and 1851, this latter being next door to Joan's brother Isaac.
Her mariage cert. shows her living at Newon Mills, and as dtr of Abraham Bidgood, labourer.
A baptism entry of a Sarah dtr of Abraham, labourer, & Joan Turner of Newton fits known info of Abraham being Tirner or Bidgood, including the change over time.1,9,10,4,2

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
