BMDB data

Mary Ann Livock was born on 16 Mar 1816 St John Hampstead, MDX, ENG.5,3 She was baptized on 21 Apr 1816 St John Hampstead, MDX; entry shows Mary Ann as born 23 Mar to John, coal merchant, & Mary LIVOCK of Hampstead.5
Mary Ann Livock married Robert Turnbull, son of Robert Turnbull and Eleanor Scott, on 12 Jan 1843 St Pancras Ch, Par. of St Pancras, MDX, ENG, Never thought we'd find this marriage. We knew it existed because Robert described himself as a widower when he remarried in Nov 1844.
Cue a LIVOCK researcher who searched the web and found Robert's webpage.
Cert. shows Robert as a schoolteacher, resid. St Pancras, s/o Robert, carpenter; Mary Ann as spinster resid. St John Hampstead, d/o John Livock, coal merchant; Both of full age, both signed; Wit.: John Livock, Dav(id) Stevenson (who features in son Robert's life, see 1871 census) and Robert's future wife Louisa Philipine Maes, whom he married the next year, as a widower.6,2,4
Mary Ann Livock died in May 1844 Milverton, Dist of Wellington, SOM, ENG, at age 28; (no obvious births registered Wellington around this time, so possibly not in childbirth.)7,8,9,6 She was buried on 16 May 1844 Milverton, SOM, ENG.8,9
Karen's reading of David STEVENSONs correspondence (to his wife Eliza nee LIVOCK, and to the Rev Turnbull) and has placed one more piece of the puzzle, allowing us to find where Mary Ann LIVOCK was buried.
Would never have thought of looking in Somerset, but armed with this extract:
19 August, 1858. — Milverton — Somersetshire.
"I have just been standing in the moonlight in front of your old domicile at Milverton. It is a beautiful old place certainly, only not quite so large as I expected to see it. The church looks romantic in the moonbeams. The sweet-toned bell struck nine as I strolled round the venerable fabric, full of dreams of the past. I had a little difficulty in finding poor Mary Ann's grave. It is situated in a peaceful spot. Now I have returned to mine inn to write to you and Eliza. What a glorious country it is all about here! I wish you were with me to answer the thousand questions which arise in my mind. No one seems to know anything. The landlord don't remember anything, and he hasn't been long here. The waiter tells me long yarns about everything but Milverton ; and the folk seem to think I am not much good, prowling about in the dark. Never mind, I have seen the place and am satisfied ; but I hope the sheets at the hotel won't be damp. Such brandy — none of your foreign stuff — real British, and no mistake. Bah I repeat, I hope the sheets won't be damp."

Karen found the burial and I found adverts for the Milverton Classical and Commercial School in 1843, "Master M Turnbull."9,10

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
