     Mary Hanham married William Gibson, son of John Gipson and Jane Capper, on 2 Apr 1804 Sutton Montis, SOM, Two successive entries: Banns of Marriage between William Gibson and Mary Hanham b.o.t.p. were published in this Church on Sunday the 12th of February, on Sunday the 19th Do & on Sunday the 26th Do 1804 by J Palmer, Rector

William Gibson & Mary Hanham b.o.t.p. were married in this Church by Banns this second Day of April in the year our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and four by me Mr J Palmer Rector.
This marriage was solemnized between us: X the marks of Wm Gibson & Mary Hanham
In the presence of John Hannam, X the mark of John Gould

John Hannam witnessed the prior marriage (Samuel Day & Edith Chamberlain, 8 Dec 1803) along with Elizabeth X her mark Hannam
And also that of John Hayes & Elizabeth Hanham, 30 Dec 1806 (X their marks), wit. John Hannam & Harriet Benton
And the next, with X the mark of Wm Hammond on 3 Aug 1808 between John Lamb of Corton Denham and Mary Weldress (in body of doc and Mary Watness in X her mark.)1
     Mary Hanham died in Dec 1835 Queen Camel, SOM, ENG.3 She was buried on 24 Dec 1835 Queen Camel, SOM, entry shows Mary GIBSON as 58, abode Queen Camel.3
     When her daughter, Jane Andrews nee Gibson died, the informant for the death did not know Jane's mother's maiden name, but given dtr Jane's marr. cert also did not have a father listed, I assumed for years that she was the illegitimate dtr of a Jane Gibson.
Roll forward to Oct 2017 and it is now believed Jane's mother is actually a Mary Hanham, thanks to a flurry of research back in May (2017) that identified her as a candidate, and Oct saw turn into reality thanks to DNA matches (http://lornahen.blogspot.com/2017/10/the-lazy-vicar.html refers)

The icing on the cake would be further confirmation by way of a mitochondrial DNA match to the already tested direct female line descendant of Mary's daughter Jane.
Would love to hear from anyone who would like to help - eg sharing research on the family to find a candidate, or if a direct female line descendant themselves, being willing to do DNA test (FamilyTreeDNA - mtDNA plus for preference.)4,5

Names

     Mary Hanham was also known as Jane Gibson now (Oct 2017) believed to be either incorrect info from informant or clerical error by Registrar, after all, Jane was 94 when she died in 1906, and her mother had died back in 1835.4,5 As of 1778, Mary Hanham was also known as Mary Hannam.6
