     Sarah Ann Toop died bet Mar 1943 - Jun 1943 at Buckland Monachorum?, Dist of Tavistock, DEV, ENG; aged 82.6,7,8
     
     Sarah is my 2nd link with the Toop family. Back in Feb 2006 I added Sampson Toop to the family tree via his marriage to Emma Bidgood, dtr of Joan Smith Dawe. So when Robert popped up as well I went fishing to see if they were connected. They are - uncle/nephew. And then in Aug 2008 I caught up with the marriage between John Toop and Sarah Willcock, dtr of Ann Barter. Which makes all the Toop descendants distant relations on the Barter tree, and Sarah Ann and Robert John as 1st, 3rd and 5th cousins.9
     The census of 1861 showed Sarah as a 5mth old, b. Walkhampton living with her brother John in the household of her parents Walter and Margaret King at Ditsham Farm, Walkhampton, Dist of Tavistock, DEV, ENG.10
     The census of 7 Apr 1871 showed Sarah, Mary and Margaret and their brothers Walter, James and Thomas in the household of their parents Walter and Margaret King at Ditsham Farm, Walkhampton, DEV, ENG, enumerated as KING: Walter, 43, head, farmer 100 acres, b Walkhampton; wife Margaret, 42, b Buckland Monachorum; Children (all b Walkhampton): John, 12; Sarah A, 10; Mary E, 9; Walter 7; Margaret 6; James 4;(all scholars) Thomas 1. Servants: William Newcombe, 17 farm serv indoors ; Sarah A Symons, 22 gen serv; Alice Hannaford, 18 gen serv; all b Walkhampton.11
     The census of 1881 showed Sarah, Mary, Margaret and Emma and their brothers John, Walter, James and Thomas in the household of their parents Walter and Margaret King at Hele, Par. of Bickleigh, DEV, ENG, enumerated as KING: Walter, 53, farmer of 283 acres emp. 2 labourers b Walkhampton; Margaret, wife, 52, b. Buckland Monachorum. Children (all b Walkhampton, unm): John, 22; Sarah Ann, 20; Mary Elizabeth, 19; Walter, 17; Margaret, 16; James, 14; Thos, 11, scholar; Emma, 8, scholar.      The census of 1891 showed Sarah, Mary and Emma and their brothers John and James in the household of their father Walter together with their father's cousin Henrietta G Dawe at Hele Barton, Village of Roborough, Par. of Bickleigh, DEV, ENG, enumerated as KING (all b Walkhampton): Walter, 62, head, widower, farmer; Children: John, widower, 32, farmer; James, 23 farmer; Sarah A, 30; Mary E, 29; Emma, 18; Cousin:Henrietta G Dawe, 21, b Newton Ferrers. Servants: Richard Ford, 19, b Newton Abbot; Frederick Reddicks? 18, b Stowford, DEV; Annie Thomas, 17, b Camborne, CON.4
     The census of 1901 showed Sarah with her husband Robert, their sons Robert and James, their dtrs Emma, Hetty and Margaret at Place Barton, Buckland Monachorum, Dist of Tavistock, DEV, ENG, household enumerated as TOOP: Robert J 40 farmer (employer) b Horrabridge; wife Sarah A 40 b Walkhampton; Children (all b Buckland Monachorum): Emma 11; Margaret K 8; Robert W 6; James H 4; Hetty 1; Servants: Bovey x2, Phillips; Pike (both b Buckland Monachorum): Ellen A 16; John A 14 horse man on farm; Richard Doidge 14 cow boy b Hatherleigh.6 Sarah Ann Toop is possibly the witness to the marriage of Richard Hamley and Hetty Toop on 20 Apr 1926 in the Par.
