James Rowe was baptized on 5 Apr 1777 at Buckland Monachorum, DEV, ENG.2 Some sources show James as born on 2 Aug 1778 but this was on trees received before the extracts from the Buckland baptisms, which show a baptism on 5th Apr the previous year. I have now discounted this date.3,1,4
James Rowe died on 2 Mar 1867 at Exeter, DEV, ENG, ; aged 89 (not, as some had previously thought, the Dec qtr 1852 dth reg. in Exeter as James was enumerated in the 1861 census and is buried in a Trimble family tomb with a date of 1867).3,5
James Rowe appeared on the census of 7 Jun 1841 at Mont le Grand, Heavitree, DEV, ENG, in the household of John Trimble and Hannah Trimble.6 James Rowe appeared on the census of 30 Mar 1851 at 9 Regents Park, St Thomas, Heavitree, DEV, ENG, in the household of Hannah Trimble as brother of Hannah.7,8 Follow this link for full text(s) and/or more information on documents mentioned.

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
