     Margaret Shiell was born on 23 Jul 1723 at Houstoun, Par. of Jedburgh, ROX, SCT.4 She was baptized on 28 Jul 1723 at Jedburgh, ROX, SCT; entry reads: "James Shiel Smith in Houstoun had a daughter born the 23d instant and Baptized this day named Margaret Hendrie Scott Glover and George Rennelson weaver both in Jedr witnesses."2,4
     Margaret Shiell married Walter Richardson, son of Robert Richardson and Jennet Leigerwood, on 18 Jun 1745 at Eckford, ROX, SCT, entry reads: "Jun 18th (1745) Walter Richardson in this Parish and Margt Shiell in the Parish of Jedbr gave up their names for proclamation in order to marriage. James Shiel Henry Young Cautrs given to the poor a shilling."1
     Margaret Shiell died aft. 1764 ?Morebattle, ROX, SCT.
