William MacAdie married Janet Campbell say 1773 ?Watten, CAI, no marriage obvious on OPRs, only baptisms of children.
The Wattten Kirk Session minutes were checked from 1772 to start of 1776, with no mention of any McAdy (or variants) found, either as being in receipt of relief payments or being rebuked "for ucleanliness" (Watten kirk session, Minutes (1749-1779), CH2/364/3.)¹

Provided George does indeed fit into William & Janet's family, ie Janet Campbell is aka McCurthie/McCurchie/McKorthie, the naming pattern, and location, indicates that William could be the son of George McADIE & Isobel Man(son) baptized in 1744.
Adding weight to this ID is a David, living in Ruther witnessing a child's baptism, who would then be his brother.³

His son William, born 1786 is shown as a weaver in Dunn laterr in life and in 1790 William Snr was living iin South Dun, and shown as a weaver in 1793.)⁵
