Jan 1758 Scarmclate, Par. of Bower, CAI, SCT.1 He was baptized on 11 Jan 1758 Watten, Par. of Watten, CAI, SCT; entry reads: George McAdie in Scarmclet and Margaret Cottar his spouse had a son baptized named Donald before wit: William Levach in Scarmclait and Thomas Robertson in Flex.1
     Donald McAdie married Catherine MacKain on 13 Dec 1788 Watten and Wick, CAI, SCT, Watten OPR: Donald McAdie in Bilbster, Parish of Wick and Katherine MacKEAN in Bylbster were contracted in order to marriage and after ordinary proclamations & no objections offered their marriage was solemnized
Wick OPR: McALDIE (sic) or poss. Mcddie (with the A missing), Donald in Bilbster was matrimonially contracted to Katherine McKAIN in Watten - Cautions for the man James DONALDSON in Bilbster and for the woman Do.2

     Donald, son of George MacADIE and Margaret COTTAR, bap. Jan 1758, Watten but born Scarmclet, Bower, is assumed to be one and the same as Donald, farmer at Bilbster, Wick who married Katherine McKean/McKain of Bylbster, Watten.
Naming pattern of the latter couple's children "fits", and a witness at the baptism of the first child, son George, was a Robert McADIE in Watten, presumed to be his brother.5

     Donald McAdie appeared on the census of 1841 Bilbster, Par. of Wick, CAI, as McADIE: Donald 79 ag lab; Margt 40 ag lab; Isabel 37 ag lab. All b. CAI (NB enumerators were instructed to round ages down to the nearest multiple of 5.)4

     Donald McAdie was also known as Donald MacAdy.3

     On 24 Feb 1821 Wick, CAI, SCT, Donald McAdie was a cautioner at the marriage of Peter Henderson and Catherine McAdy; assumed to be correct Peter from census and dtr Isabella link back to "Peter H and Catherine McADY". Also 26 Jan 1821 Bilster (sic).
Entry in Wick OPR reads: Peter Henderson farm servant at Bilbster was matrimonially contracted to Catherine McAdy (sic) daugr of Donald McAdy farmer in Bilbster Wm Bremner wright in Stircoke Cautioner for the man & the said Donald MacAdy (sic) for his daughter. Married on February 24th."6,3 Donald McAdie witnessed the christening of Catherine Henderson on 27 Nov 1821 Wick, CAI.7,8
