Are the James, b. 1772 to William Junkine and Catherine McGibbon, and the James who married Christian Roy in Stirling (1799) and became a nail manufacturer one and the same person?
Answer NO - the James m. Roy is a completely different branch on the yDNA tree, with both branches connected back in the 1550s - give or take 200 or so years. Click here for timeframes / branches. Those under the orange dotted haplogroup are the Stirlingshire line BigY testers, and the other branch, labelled R-BY19859, are the Perthshire branches, the group of three being the "Henderson" testers.⁴
