     George Sinton married Mary Johnston on 17 Mar 1811 Edinburgh, MLN, SCT, entry shows a George SINTON Mercht of College Church Parish and Mary JOHNSTON Parish of Lady Kirk, Daughter of Thomas JOHNSTON Farmer Said Parish - which entry is assumed to be this George.4,5,6
     George Sinton died on 25 Oct 1846 Hampstead St John, MDX, ENG, at age 59.7,8 He was buried on 31 Oct 1846 Hampstead St John, MDX, ENG, entry shows George as 57, d. 25th Oct.8
     George features on a Hampstead webpage as a nurseryman, and as an example for social studies on the effect of Scarlet Fever at the time - four of his children died within 3 days of each other, all appearing on the same burial page of the Hampstead St John register, Charles on the 14th, Elizabeth, William and Lilly on the 17th, supposedly ranging in age from 11 to 29 (which ages vary considerably from those in the 1841 census, and have not yet been checked further). One more child died a couple of years later.9,10

     Bet. 1810 - 1812 George and William Sinton were Edinburgh, MLN, SCT, 1810-11 entry shows George SINTON grocer and oilman at West Bow
1811-12 entry shows G & W SINTON as oilmen at 37 High St (not immediately obvious 1809-10 or 1812-13, about which time they pop up in London). This George is assumed to be the Merchant who married Mary JOHNSTON in 1811, and the disappearance from view at the time of arrival in London aids this id.6,11,12
     George Sinton appeared on the census of 1841 Nursery, St John Hampstead, Dist of Edmonton, MDX, ENG, as SINTON: George 50 nurseryman b SCT; Assumed children: George 20, Thomas 15, William 11, Charles 7, Elizabeth 20, Isabella 15, Lille 10 all b Cty. (These ages, even allowing for the rounding, vary considerably from the ages at death for most of these children) (NB enumerators were instructed to round ages down to the nearest multiple of 5.)13,9

     George outlived his wife Mary Sinton who died in Jan 1833.4,12 George Sinton is possibly the witness to the marriage of William Daniels and Mary Ann Sinton on 14 Oct 1839 at the Par. Ch, Hampstead St John, MDX, ENG.14
