     John Dawe was born cir. Jul 1782 Buckland Monachorum, DEV, ENG, assumes correct id in 1841, certainly the John C with them is likely to be their grdson.4,2 He was baptized on 15 Jul 1782 Par. of Buckland Monachorum, DEV, ENG; John Son of Joseph and Ann DAWE.2
     John Dawe married Elizabeth Horrell on 15 Jan 1806 Shaugh Prior, Dist of Plympton St Mary, DEV, ENG, cert. shows John DAWE as yeoman, Par. of Bickleigh; Elizabeth HORRELL spinster of this parish. Both signed. Wit: Joseph DAWE, Henry DAWE.1,5
     John Dawe died bet. 1841 - 1851 ?Tavistock, DEV, ENG; several candidates, assuming stayed in the Tavistock district.6
     The Bower connection is what makes me assume that the John married to Elizabeth HORRELL is the one born in the right timeframe to Joseph DAWE & Ann MILDREN - that and the use of Crossman as a middle name for his own son John.
Examination of assorted marriage certificate signatures was inconclusive as to whether the same John, Henry and Joseph siblings were involved, they looked sort of similar, but not identical to me.7

     John Dawe was a yeoman in Jan 1806 Bickleigh, DEV, ENG.5 He was gentleman farmer fr 1816 - 1820 Bower, Par. of Bickleigh, DEV, ENG.8,9
     John Dawe appeared on the census of 1841 Exeter St, Tavistock, DEV, ENG, with Elizabeth Horrell, as DAW: John 58 farmer; Elizth 54 ; Ann 17, John C 11, all b Cty (NB enumerators were instructed to round ages down to the nearest multiple of 5.)4

Wills/bequests

     Ann, Agness, Elizabeth, Mary, Joseph, John, Henry and Sampson were beneficiaries in the 9 Jan 1793 will of their father Joseph Dawe Par. of Buckland Monachorum, DEV, ENG.10

All the other info

     John Dawe was considered as a potential duplicate of John Dawe, but this has been discounted; one the s/o Joseph & Ann (MILDREN) DAWE b. Buckland Monachorum, the other marr. to Mary POPE, labourer of Netherton - but the latter is more likely to belong to the Gentle DAW line - or to the Sampson of Netherton??11 John Dawe witnessed the marriage of Abraham Harvie and Agness Dawe on 4 Apr 1820 Par. Ch, Buckland Monachorum, DEV, ENG.12
