Margaret Sinton died on 11 Apr 1870 Harwood Head, nr Elsdon, NBL, ENG; but the only matching dth reg. so far found is a Margaret LINTON reg. qtr 1 1870, Rothbury.³

Margaret Sinton appeared on the census of 30 Mar 1851 Cottonshope, Rochester, Dist of Bellingham, NBL, ENG, in the house of Peter and Mary Sinton, as the dtr of Peter.^4,5 In the census of Apr 1861 Margaret Sinton was Chesterhouse, Hownam, ROX, SCT, in the household of Peter Sinton as granddtr of Peter.⁶

Margaret Sinton was considered as a potential duplicate of Margaret Punton, but this has been discounted; right age and birth country, 2nd (or subsequent) son called Peter would fit naming pattern, husband John Crosbie's birthplace of Morebattle isn't far from where Mgt was in 1861, and igi has son Peter's mother as Punton, which just might have been a mistranscription of Sinton but her marriage cert clearly reads PUNTON and parents clinch the wrong id.^7,8,9
