William Henderson was born on 12 Mar 1810 Cowie Hill, STI, SCT.¹ He was baptized on 25 Mar 1810 Logie, STI/PER, SCT

; entry reads: Born William lawfull son to William Henderson and Jean Duncan at Cowie Hill March 12 1810 ?/B: Bapt 25th Ditto.^1,2

This William was once (1994) tentatively identified as the one married to Margaret SINCLAIR, 5 of whose children emigrated to Australia in 1857, possibly with their grandmother Elizabeth SINCLAIR nee WATSON, all from the Bridge of Allan where Margaret and family were in 1841 and 1851, and where William was a smith (1841).
However, IF he stayed at the Cowie Hill his baptism shows, this seems an unlikely match, given Cowie is SE of Stirling, and Bridge of Allan is NW.
I'd been unable to find anything on the family of William HENDERSON & Jean DUNCAN to rule William completely out of contention as the husband of Margaet SINCLAIR but the family names and location of the latter led me to believe that Margaret's husband is William, son of Archibald & Margaret (McEWAN) HENDERSON of the Bridge of Allan, where Archibald was a smith as was Margaret's husband.^3,1

William Henderson was considered as a potential duplicate of William Henderson, but this has been discounted; To date I've been unable to find anything on the family of William HENDERSON & Jean DUNCAN to rule their William completely out of contention as the husband of Margaret SINCLAIR but the family names and location lead me to believe that Margaret's husband is William, son of Archibald & Margaret (McEWAN) HENDERSON of the Bridge of Allan instead. Both father Archibald, and William were smiths at the Bridge of Allan, whereas William son of William & Jean (DUNCAN) HENDERSON were of Cowie Hill, Par. of Logie, where Cowie is SE of Stirling, and Bridge of Allan is NW.
As at Feb 2016 we now have a good set of atDNA matches between a descendant of William and Margaret (SINCLAIR) HENDERSON and descendants of both Margaret and James, his siblings, children of Archibald and Margaret McEWAN.
So I think this is now a rejected potential duplicate.^1,3
