Does anyone have any more information on Robert?
Parents? Fate? Names of the five sons?

Robert came to my attention from a reasonably sized (20cMs) DNA match between a descendant of Robert's at a spot that has also been inherited by three descendants of Archibald FAIRBAIRN and Alison CROSSER.

Family information from his daughter Elizabeth (born New York, married William ALFONT(E) at age 13, probably in Pennsylvania) is that he was a sea faring man born Scotland, and that she was the 2nd oldest of 7, with only one sister, Mary.3

All the other info

"William married Elizabeth Freeburn in 1819, when she was only thirteen years old. Elizabeth was a native of New York City, and her father, Robert Freeburn (my 4th great grandfather), was born in Scotland. Robert was also a seafaring man and served in the British Navy for several years. According to my grandfather Paul, he may have also served in the American Navy during the War of 1812.

During their early years of married life in the Philadelphia township of Blockley, William and Elizabeth were the parents of six children: Nathan, Robert, John, Mary, Elizabeth and Anna. Sadly, the oldest, Nathan, drowned in the Schuykill River as a child. For reasons unknown, William and Elizabeth and their five remaining children migrated to Indiana in 1834, settling in the east central county of Madison. The following is recorded of their trip: "...2

Robert Freeburn "a seafaring man" born Scotland and in New York around 1805 and Robert Freeburn a seaman "late of New York City" dying at sea on the brig "Port Loon" in 1846 were possibly related ?father/son?3
Another potential duplicate of Robert Freeburn is Robert Freeburn; one a "sea faring man" born Scotland, the other a "rigger" "Subj of G. B." naturalized New York, Apr 1807.3,5

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
