Many trees seem to have latched on to Margaret WINSKELL as William's wife - but in the 1851 census she is single, born Westmoreland, when William and Margaret are together in Longbenton. Margaret consistently shows her birthplace as Northumberland, Kenton (in Gosforth Parish).

My interest?
Myself, a second cousin, and another person with Scottish ancestry all have a FamilyFinder dna match in common (triangulated match) on chromosome 17.
The only branch on one tree that isn't early American is this Northumberland branch - still being investigated.7

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
