All the other info
At least one other researcher has this WHH as married to a Martha Woodhouse, but until I see a marriage cert that says that ones father was a John, carpenter, I believe that the son of John Hamley and Mary Toll was the one married to Ellen Ann Gill who carried on his grandmother's trade of grocer and consistently stated his birthplace as Beerferris.11William Henry Hamley was considered as a potential duplicate of William Hamley Landport, Portsea, HAM, ENG, in 1871 but I cannot see any convincing evidence, working from the bmd registrations and census data for William and Martha (Woodhouse) Hamley, that leads me back to the WHH son of John Hamley and Mary Toll of Beer Town as there is nothing from 1870 to 1888 that shows this William as connected with Bere Ferrers. Confirmed by Ron later providing William and Martha's marriage cert. which shows this William as the son of a George, ?mason?11,12
William Henry Hamley was considered as a potential duplicate of William Hamley in 1881 but the one married to Fanny BISHOP, although born Bere Ferrers is younger, but as he's a grocer, may well belong to another of the tribe.11

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
