Eliza Dalgliesh appeared on the census of 1841 at Arnlee, Par. of Canonbie, DFS, SCT, in the household of Walter Dalgliesh and Mary Dalgliesh and is assumed to be a dtr.1,3 Eliza Dalgliesh appeared on the census of 1851 at Begholms, Par. of Langholm, DFS, SCT, as niece of John Dalgliesh.2All the other info
Eliza Dalgliesh is a potential duplicate of Elizabeth Dalgleish; Eliza being Mary's sister. Given Elizabeth/Betsy's variable ages in assorted records, & Elizabeth's dth cert which shows her parents as Walter and Mary Dalgleish I have this theory that Elizabeth, wife of James Thomson, is one and the same person as Eliza, sister of Mary, James' first wife, but the age seems a tad far out.4| Last Edited | 14 Sep 2007 |

E. & O. E. Some/most parish records are rather hard to read and names, places hard to interpret, particularly if you are unfamiliar with an area.
