How can one not love a relation with a name like this? So I just had to include her on the web, even though I know very little about her!
I have been contacted by a potential rellie who points out that a Procretia PALMER was buried on 16 Apr 1822 aged 72, the address being where a Richard & Procretia PALMER were both living.
Is this the same Procretia? Jury still out at the moment as the age is starting to edge away from 1745 a tad, making her 50 by 1795 when a son William was baptized at St John nr Torpoint (Cornwall). And subsequently ruled out as the ancestor of my contact when the William she thought might be hers was found to have died at age 8 - adding that she'd found a Processa nee COLEMAN in Plymouth St Andrews who fitted the age better.^7,8,9

Names

As of 1768, Procretia was also known as Procrestie although recorded by the clerks as Procretia, she signed both marriages as Procrestie.^3,5 As of 1779, Procretia Pyke was also known as Prottrisha.¹⁰

Procretia outlived her husband George Lobb who died in Sep 1769.^4,11
Procretia is assumed to have outlived her husband Jonathan Williams who died in Jan 1788 as there's no Procretia, or similar, WILLIAMS burials 1777 to 1797 in Bere Ferrers.¹²

1st attempt at deciphering the baptism name was Sisnotia, but the S matches the P of Pyke, so I had another go, aided by the fact that there's a marriage in 1768 of a Procretia Pyke.
