James Stewart and Elizabeth Young who produced a certificate of their having been irregularly married also a certificate of character and of his being formerly unmarried by James Stewart. The session agreed upon their acknowledgment of the irregularity to confirm their Marriage and to continue their enjoyment of Christian privelege. Signed, Walter Morrison Minister."

The couple concerned were the parents of Margaret STEWART, who married John RICHARDSON in 1846 (Quebec). A (highly lkely) descendant of John's uncle James is a dna match to Ralph, a descendant of Robert's brother John - assuming that this Robert is the elder concerned.³

Robert Richardson blacksmith at Morebattle 1824-1851 (at least, married to Jane YOUNG say 1822ish and Robert Richardson blacksmith at Morebattle rebuked for an irregular marriage to Christina ELLIOT in 1809 are possibly the same person this theory being reinforced by a reasonably strong DNA match between a descendant of the Robert married to Christina, and two descendants of Robert( marr. to Jane YOUNG's) sister Elizabeth.⁹
