I have not been at [all] well this last 2 years with Arithens I was in bed 9 weeks last summer just when we had any summer but I don't think we are going to have any good weather this year at all nothing but rain. I had a letter from Hugh last Saturday. He always says he is leaving Broadlean but that day has not come yet. The others are all well so far as I know I don't know if you know that Matties wife Jessie is dead. You will know that Johnnies wife died a good time ago. He is married again to a woman about Jackies age. he was home here a few days 2 years ago. I have not seen any of the others since mother died. I thought you might have written then. Mike (as yet unidentified) is failing he had to have one of his eyes removed short [time] ago in order to save the sight of the other
    Cunningsburgh is very quiet nothing doing in the work line. There was some work when the electric was put up. I am hoping I will receive an answer to this. Remember me to Sandy and Willie your loving sister B Smith.17

Wilma T. was a nurse in Montfield Hospital while Babs was a resident there, and has a picture of Babs on her 100th birthday. Babs died the night before her 104th birthday.19,20,18
