Index barely legible but Thirza's name spelt Daw (Vol IX p 455, reg. Plympton St Mary). Wit: Honor Daw (sister of Thirza and future sister-in-law of Joseph) and Isaac Daw (assumed to be brother of Thirza rather than father, although could be either).1,4,5

  • Death*: Thirza Dawe died on 5 Oct 1891 at Belmont Rd, Exeter, DEV, ENG; "I have very sad news to communicate to you. Thirza died last Monday the 5 of this month. She was out with me the Friday week before, she had the Dr the next day but was taken worse on the Wednesday (??) slight seizure then was unconscious .... until she passed away. Mr Lamacraft did everything he could for her - two Drs two nurses. I was with her as much as I could & Ann Dewdney Mrs Dewdney's eldest daughter was with her part of the time poor Anne feels it very much I hope they will ?? ?able together Mr L will miss her very much they were always about together. She hadn't been feeling [well] for several months * & ?never? said she felt well & I think in the summer..8,14
